Westside Ty (performing and directing as westsidexty) is a South African born artist, producer and engineer. A product of his environment, he takes inspiration from his life in the Woodlands - also known as the West. As a 90s baby himself, he creates sounds reminiscent of the era - whether it be breathing new life into a classic R&B sample, taking it to the West Coast with that G-funk, serenading souls with some R&B or bringing it back home with some Afro-Pop.

Being entirely self-taught and fighting tooth and nail to stay in the music industry, westsidexty was offered a bursary from SAMPRA to study Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering. This allowed him to freely explore his gift and refine his craft. He showcases this experience through his versatility as an artist and producer; a chameleon both in the booth and in the control room. The content of his music is predominantly light-hearted and is meant to be an escape from reality. But when reality sets in, the lyricist in him comes out and starts to document everything it took for him to get here.

Evident in the clarity and quality of his work, he understands that a good mix can elevate a song to new heights. He takes pride in bringing the artist's vision to life in new and creative ways, not only during post-production but during the recording process as well, helping the artist to achieve the best performance possible.
